Travel with your pets on BC Ferries
Pet policy BC Ferries
BC ferries encourages you to take your pet on one of their ferries across British Columbia. They won’t even charge you for it! You can either travel by car or as foot passenger with your pet. For the safety of BC Ferries’ customers and crew, pets must remain on the car deck. Pets are not permitted in passenger areas, with the exception of certified Guide/Service dogs. Owners of certified Guide/Service dogs are required to present certification ID when requested by crew.
Travelling by car
When you arrive at most BC ferries terminals, you will find a designated area where you can walk your pet prior to bearding the vessel. During the crossing, your pet will stay in your vehicle.
Travelling by foot
If you are travelling as a foot passenger, you will have to purchase a ticket at the passenger booth. You will be directed to board the vessel via the car deck for easy access to the pet area on board.
