Pet policy Turkish Airlines
Pets such as cats, dogs and caged birds like parrots and canaries can be brought into the cabin as long as there are no cabin passengers who have provided Turkish airlines with a doctor’s note stating they are allergic to animals. The depth, width, and height of the cage must not exceed 23x40x55 cm, and it must not weigh over 8 kg with the pet inside.If your pet cannot be brought into the cabin because its carrier does not conform to our specifications, weighs over 8 kg, or for any other reason, Turkish airlines can transport it as cargo in special cages.
Service dogs
Passengers who need to travel with an assistance dog for physical or psychological reasons must provide a doctor’s note stating their requirements. Passengers who need to travel with an assistance dog must receive reservation approval at least 48 hours before their flight. Your assistance dog, which will be transported free of charge, should be kept on a leash, muzzled, and remain at your feet throughout the journey.
Health, breed and age restrictions
Due to international aviation regulations, Turkish airlines does not allow some pets onto the flight, including pit bull terrier, American pit bull terrier, bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Tosa Inu, Argentine mastiff, Brazilian mastiff, rottweiler, Staffordshire bull terrier, Spanish mastiff, Bordeaux mastiff, Italian mastiff, English mastiff, Tibetan mastiff, Doberman pinscher, American bulldog, Caucasian shepherd dog, Neapolitan mastiff, and other similar large or dangerous dogs are unfortunately not allowed onto the aircraft.
Charges
You can travel together with your pet by paying the excess baggage charge applicable for your route. The excess baggage charge will be calculated according to the combined weight of your pet and its carrier or cage.
